Summer CD Review's Proms Composers explores recordings of music by John Foulds. He was a successful composer of light music and theatre scores, but his main focus went into more ambitious and exploratory works that were particularly influenced by Indian music. He eventually travelled to India in 1935 where he collected folk music and composed pieces for traditional Indian instrument ensembles.
