The AIRE Centre (Advice on Individual Rights in Europe)
The
AIRE Centre provides free legal advice and representation with the aim of
ensuring that even the most vulnerable and marginalised people are treated
fairly and are protected by European law.Â
Since 1993 The AIRE Centre has been defending migrant’s rights.
Where we see there are larger problems, which have an impact on groups of
people, we take cases to the European Court of Human Rights and influence those
who make the decisions to listen to the problems experienced by victims of
human rights violations.
Our work is all the more important in the face of recent
cuts to legal aid which has left tens of thousands of people in the UK without
access to adequate legal advice and representation.
The AIRE Centre is a
small charity and our work is only made possible through the generous donations
of our supporters.Â
Enhancing protection for victims of human trafficking
Making sure that victims of trafficking, like Maria, receive the protection and
support they are entitled to, is central to our work. By providing free legal
advice, collaborating with partners across Europe on early legal intervention
and engaging in policy discussions on the Modern Slavery Act, we work to assert
the rights of victims and ensure their voices are heard.

For more than 20 years The AIRE Centre has been committed to working with law students and young graduates. Our unique and dynamic internships allow us to train up and coming legal professionals and future human rights lawyers. These hardworking, passionate young people, committed to social justice, help manage our legal advice line and are integral to our work..
Women on the Move Awards
The AIRE Centre receives the Champion Award at the Woman on the Move Awards 2013 for our work with migrant and refugee women.
