Paul Gambaccini blends digital tracks from the week's US charts of songs, albums, R&B, country and rock hits with LP and singles tracks from the last six decades.

Paul Gambaccini presents tracks from this week's US charts and hits from the last six decades.

Each week, songs are played connected to members of 'The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame'. To mark the induction of one of the founding fathers of American FM radio - DJ Tom Donahue - we hear 'Laugh, Laugh' by San Francisco group The Beau Brummels, who he signed to his own label Autumn Records. Donovan's membership of 'The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame' is noted by featuring his first hit 'Catch The Wind'. In 'A Matter Of Life And Death', we celebrate the birthday on this date in 1971 of Idina Menzel by playing her huge hit from 'Frozen' 'Let It Go'. Paul pays tribute to B.B. King, who has recently died. We hear King's emotional singing and guitar playing on 'How Blue Can You Get' from his album 'Live At The Regal'. 'It's Not The Same Old Song' highlights 'Roses Are Red' by Bobby Vinton and a different song with the same title by the Mac Band featuring the McCampbell Brothers.

In the feature called 'Beyond The Sea', Paul plays tracks from the biggest selling albums by UK artists in America. Tonight, we hear tracks from LPs by Dire Straits and the Thompson Twins. 'The Other Number Ones' are records that reached the top of the American chart in 'Cash Box' magazine, but not in the 'Billboard' Hot 100. This week's examples are by The Stylistics and Taco.

Our R&B number ones are from 1965 and now by The 4 Tops and The Weeknd. We hear Country number ones from 2009 and this week by Taylor Swift and Little Big Town. Our featured past and present Rock number ones are by Fastball and Walk The Moon. The week's best selling album is 'Pitch Perfect 2' from which we hear 'Flashlight' by Jessie J. The number one digital song for a seventh week is 'See You Again' by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth.
