Ronnie texts Roxy and Charlie from her hospital bed asking to see them both. Vincent arrives to see Ronnie. There is undeniable chemistry between them and Ronnie threatens to press her alarm. Vincent kisses her anyway and Ronnie hits the button. The nurse comes rushing in but Ronnie says it was a false alarm. Ronnie doesn’t want to lose what she has with Charlie and tells Vincent to go back to his family. Later, Roxy arrives in response to her sister’s message, paranoid that Ronnie’s going to tell Charlie that she knows about them. Ronnie slowly gets to her feet, with the aid of her walking frame, to show her sister that she can stand up –-she’ll be able to leave hospital in a month. Roxy’s delighted. Ronnie insists she won’t allow Roxy and Charlie’s fling to ruin their future. Meanwhile, Charlie visits Dot in prison with Ritchie Scott, who explains the prosecution have a new witness who could provide enough evidence for a conviction. Charlie later visits Ronnie, who frostily informs him he missed her standing up. Apologetic, he fills her in about the witness - the dealer who sold heroin to Dot is testifying against her. Once alone, Ronnie messages Vincent warning him to stay away, then makes a phone call. When Phil arrives, Ronnie asks him to get rid of someone for her.

Kim tries to buoy Denise with pancakes before her job interview at McKlunky’s. When Kim answers the door to bailiffs about unpaid bills, Shirley pays them to leave. Kim comforts a stressed Denise and promises to go to the job centre. Later Kim heads off, dressed to kill, but is stopped by Kat; a man’s been looking for her and Pearl – she thinks it’s Vincent. In a panic, Kim rushes home closely followed by Kat. Kim’s intent on running away, starts packing her bags and makes it clear that she doesn’t want Denise to know - if she leaves with Pearl then Vincent will have no reason to be anywhere near her family. Denise returns unaware of Kim’s intentions; she thanks Kim for her help earlier and Kim gives her a meaningful hug goodbye. In the café Kat tries to calm Kim down and tells her from experience not to let a man get into her head, handing Kim a police officer’s card. Kim makes a decision and returns home. As she puts her key in the lock, she realises that Vincent is behind her…

Mick orders her to leave and she takes her share of the takings with her. Babe swoops in and convinces them all that the best thing for the family and the new baby would be if she buys Shirley out. Outside, Buster approaches a group of young men asking them to help hand out flyers. He recognises one as the vandal who smashed Blades’ window, chases him and pins him against a wall.
