Janice Forsyth hears about a new book celebrating music in Glasgow, Karin Altenberg talks about her new book, Breaking Light, and archivist Kirstie Meehan discusses surrealist art.

From the Apollo to Barrowland and The SECC, and Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall to The Old Scotia Bar, Glasgow is known throughout the world for its music and live venues. 'Dear Green Sounds' edited by Kate Molleson is the first book to celebrate the collective history of Glasgow's music. Kate Molleson, Ewan McVicar and Hugh MacDonald join Janice to discuss the book.

Archivist Kirstie Meehan drops by to discuss Surrealist Art.

Swedish author Karin Altenberg talks about her new book 'Breaking Light'.

Stage play 'Pioneer' won a Fringe First last year and is returning to Edinburgh next week at the Traverse Theatre. It imagines the first human mission to Mars in 2029 and asks why we must try to make other planets our home. Director Jack Lowe joins Janice in studio.

And scientific glassblower turned artist Julia Malle discusses crossing the boundaries of art and science in her contribution to one of the exhibitions at the Edinburgh International Science Festival this year - 'How The Light Gets In'.
