Highlights of the opening race of the 2015 World Triathlon Series from Abu Dhabi. The race calendar has been increased to 10 events for the year, with the United Arab Emirates playing host to a WTS race for the first time. The venue hosted a short course meeting in 2014 which was won jointly by Britain's Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, the brothers crossing the line arm in arm to share the title. With the event now part of the World Triathlon Series, both the men's and women's races will be more fiercely contested as competitors look to steal a march on their rivals with a solid opening-day display. Spain's Javier Gomez and the USA's Gwen Jorgensen are the respective men's and women's overall champions from the previous season.
