A stubborn Alfie has no choice but to reconsider his radical solution. After some words of wisdom from Carol, Bianca makes a heartbreaking decision.

It’s the day that the Butchers are moving to Milton Keynes and it’s chaos. As everyone around him packs to leave, Liam is reluctant. Whitney, Carol and Sonia all approach Bianca and ask her to properly consider what Liam wants. They concur that she should at least hear Liam’s reasons for wanting to stay.

The discussion erupts into a row between Sonia and Bianca. As the slanging match heads to the kitchen, Liam beckons TJ to follow him. Liam takes TJ over to the Beales’ to see Cindy and Beth. TJ decides that he doesn’t want to hold her and swiftly leaves, leaving Cindy and Liam alone. Liam assures Cindy that she won’t be alone and that she’ll be great; she’s one of the strongest women he knows. Carol sits Bianca and Sonia down in the kitchen and tells them to stop being stubborn and admit they’re going to miss each other.

As the Butchers’ have some leaving drinks in the Vic, Liam is still obviously dreading leaving. Carol takes Bianca outside and points out that Bianca needs stop making the move all about her and think about what the kids really want, especially Liam. As the Butcher’s bid goodbye to everyone in the Vic, Terry tries to offer Alfie some cash; Alfie declines and Terry reassures Alfie that there’s always a way to get out of a mess. Cindy finds Liam in the Square Gardens and thanks him for being there for her earlier that day.

As Bianca looks over to see them embracing, she has a moment of clarity and starts unloading Liam’s stuff, telling him that he can stay in Walford. Bianca, Terry, Morgan and Tiffany say their final goodbyes and jump in the cab and excitedly head off to Milton Keynes.

Linda desperately tries to shake Nancy out of her mood, assuring her that it was Dean who kissed her; and he was incredibly drunk. Sharon apologises to Linda for telling Nancy about Linda and Dean – Linda refuses to accept it. As Sharon tries to catch up with Nancy on Bridge Street, she bumps into Phil who firmly tells her he needs a word with her – he’ll meet her in the Vic later to talk. Sharon manages to catch up with Nancy in the cafĂ©. Sharon reminds Nancy that it’s Dean she should be gunning for, not Linda.

Nancy firmly tells Dean to stay away from Linda; if he tries to ruin her family she will smash his face in. Later, Dean apologises to Nancy and Linda – he was drunk and it was entirely his fault. Nancy assures Linda that she’s not going to tell Mick what happened. Sharon once again apologises to Linda and Linda admits it’s now sorted and forgives her.

Roxy excitedly discusses wedding plans with Sharon and Phil; Phil awkwardly leaves the room, swiping Sharon’s phone from the table as he does so. Marcus Christie heads into the Albert to meet Sharon, but is greeted by Phil instead, who locks him into the bar. Phil asks him to explain how he wormed his way in with Sharon and Marcus tells him that it was Sharon that came to him – because she hates Phil.

Phil sits in the Vic and orders a scotch – he’s clearly conflicted. Shirley takes it away from him, claiming a real friend wouldn’t let him do that. Sharon meets Phil at the Vic and Phil bluffs, telling her that he wants their wedding to be the best day ever; she can have whatever she wants. When Shirley takes Phil aside and calls him a mug, he assures her that Sharon is never going to be Mrs Mitchell – he’s got something planned for her at the altar.

Kat tries to convince a concerned Alfie that they will sort their money problems. Alfie receives a letter from the council – it’s the insurance policy for the house. When Terry leaves a stack of toys to take to the tip, Alfie starts to slyly box it up, but Terry comes back out of the house and catches him; it’s awkward. Kat tells Alfie that Aleks has sussed that she is still getting maternity benefits whilst she’s working; she’s worried he’ll grass her up.

Alfie heads to the Market Office to see Aleks and tries to persuade him not to get Kat in trouble. Aleks is non-sympathetic, even when Alfie resorts to begging. Later, Alfie leaves Stacey and Kat in the Vic, telling them he needs some time on his own. Back in the house, Alfie takes a long hard look at his home contents insurance letter – could this be the only way out of his mess...?
