Mick attempts to fix things for his family, but are they being as loyal to him? Carol makes a discovery about Charlie. Dean offers to help, but what are his true intentions?

On the morning of her mastectomy, a nervous Carol forces down a slice of toast. Tiffany questions her about the operation. Carol assures her it’s a simple procedure, and waves away Liam’s offer of breakfast as she’s now nil by mouth before surgery. Liam apologises for causing trouble with the weed, Carol insists she’ll be telling the police the Carters are responsible. Bianca turns Lee away when he asks to see Whitney. Bianca gets a letter from the bailiffs demanding £5,000, but insists Carol mustn’t worry. Meanwhile, a policeman arrives to interview Liam about the hash cakes. Liam maintains he found them on a bench. Later, Carol asks Charlie to speak to Liam, who’s fed up that he always causes trouble for his family. Charlie empathises, recalling he was in trouble with the police when he was younger, but insists Liam must choose the man he wants to be. Whitney gets a shock to find Lee waiting in her bedroom, having used a ladder to climb in the window. Lee pleads for another chance with Whitney, making a hasty exit through the window as Bianca enters. Sonia arrives to take Carol to hospital. Carol’s grateful to Charlie for talking to Liam and Charlie heads off, forgetting his mobile. Carol nervously hugs her family good bye, promising everything will be fine. When Charlie’s mobile rings, Carol answers; she pales, ends the call and abruptly heads out after Charlie. On Bridge Street, Carol catches up with Charlie and hands back his phone – when was he planning on telling Dot that Nick’s alive? C/H

Having spent the night at the Vic, Tina apologises to the Carters; Linda’s worried that people will think the family were involved in Tina’s drug dealing. Mick realises Aunt Babe was involved, and vows to sort things out. Tina brings Tosh flowers and begs her to listen. When Aunt Babe arrives, Mick orders her to get rid of the weed and sets out with Shirley to tackle Carol. Tina apologises profusely to Tosh, but she’s heartbroken by Tina’s lies and won’t listen. When Dean wonders what Aunt Babe will do now, she muses - where there’s a will… Meanwhile, Mick pleads with Carol not to go the police. Bianca’s surprised when Carol agrees to keep quiet; she explains she knew Tina was dealing weed, and worries that Aunt Babe will drag them into it if she informs the police. Nancy dashes in to report that the police are at the Butchers’. Mick sets out with Dean for Aunt Babe’s house, determined to cover Tina’s tracks. Babe hands over bin bags of weed and earnestly apologises for causing trouble. After loading the bags into Babe’s Rialto, Mick asks Dean to get rid of the stash. Dean spots a curtain twitch in an upstairs window and Mick wonders who Aunt Babe has up there. Later, Mick and Aunt Babe arrive back on the Square with Lady Di; Babe claims Lady Di’s been chewing up her drapes. The Carters are delighted to see Lady Di. Babe swears everything’s been taken care of, and sets out to fetch Lady Di some lunch but instead heads to Blades, where she finds Dean safely stowing the bags of weed. Aunt Babe smiles – everything like clockwork…

Sharon insists on returning to work at the Albert and bristles when Phil suggests it’s too soon. Jittery, she struggles to unlock the bar’s front door but shrugs off Roxy’s help and insists she doesn’t need her anymore. In the Vic, Roxy thinks Sharon’s not ready to go back to work. Linda heads for the Albert, perplexed that Sharon was ready to leave Phil – what’s changed? Sharon insists she’s doing this for Dennis and hurries a suspicious Linda out as Marcus Christie arrives. Upstairs, Marcus assesses The Albert’s accounts on a laptop and insists their plan will only work if Phil’s convinced Sharon’s well again. They freeze as Phil suddenly calls up from downstairs.

Dot’s organising a community commemoration for the World War I centenary and asks Linda to put on a buffet at the Vic. Dot wants Charlie to lower the Union Jack in police uniform; he regrets he’s undercover so must keep a low profile. Later, Charlie overhears Lee complaining that the Butchers’ won’t let him near Whitney and suggests he needs an ally on the inside. Later, Dot’s delighted when Charlie presents Lee to lower the Union Jack in full uniform.
