Max is convinced he knows what's best for his family, but he is soon put in his place. Kirsty is left heartbroken when she is forced to sacrifice the thing she cares about most.

Max and Abi think it’s too soon, but Lauren’s pleased to be home and plans to keep busy with running. After an awkward reception from Joey, Lucy and Whitney, and on learning Lucy lied about being with Joey, Lauren’s upset and wonders if she should stay. Abi snaps that everything can’t to go back to normal after Lauren hurt everyone. Worried Max searches for Lauren, Joey declares he’ll keep his distance for Lauren’s health. On advice from Cora, Lauren apologises to Whitney and Lucy, swearing that she is going to change, and reassures Joey that her decline wasn’t his fault. Kirsty promises to support Lauren. Jack and Max are intent on taking Lauren back to the clinic. Lauren insists she’ll re-start her course and speak to an alcohol counsellor, and vows to stay.

Billy attempts to assert his authority over Lucy at Butcher’s Joints. Janine remains cold with Danny and asks Lucy to create an efficiency report on one of her businesses. Lucy discovers Ian’s been paying Carl from Scarlett’s takings before giving Janine her half. Ian begs Lucy not to tell Janine.

Sadie sets up a temporary salon market stall. Poppy’s affronted to be handing out flyers for the new salon, ‘Beauty’. Sadie flirts with the men to drum up business, leaving the women un-impressed. On Poppy’s advice, Sadie redeems herself by rejecting lecherous AJ and buys Poppy a drink.

Whitney avoids Ava, mindful that the interviews for play scheme assistant are today. Tiffany pleads Whitney’s case to Ava, playing her a recording of Whitney confessing how much she wants the job. Ava gives Whitney the job.

Kat gets a letter from Victim Liaison services - Ronnie’s being released within the month. She wants to talk to Alfie, but bottles it after watching him with Roxy.
