Michael is delighted when he realises he has the upper hand on Janine, but how long will it last? Ian uses Bobby's birthday as a way of building bridges with his family.

In an attempt to win Lucy round and get the family working together, Ian claims Bobby wants a birthday party. At the party, Denise tries to convince Lucy to forgive Ian and Ian makes a speech thanking Peter and Lucy. Ian and Bianca are horrified when they find Tiffany and Bobby holding hands - they're in love. Sharon demands an apology when Bobby insists he doesn't want to play with Dennis. Dennis steals the remote control for Bobby's toy car. Bobby and Tiffany maintain contact via Bobby's new walkie talkies. Ian's relieved that his plan to win Lucy round seems to have worked; however, when she discovers Bobby didn't ask for a party Lucy tells Ian she'll be civil in public, but wants nothing to do with him.

Janine throws an extravagant birthday party for Scarlett complete with Shetland pony. Unfortunately she's called the wrong playgroup and invited a load of strangers. Escaping the party, Michael and Janine talk honestly about the day Scarlett was born. Michael gives Janine a framed cast of Scarlett's feet. After Alice takes a family photo, Janine freaks out, bins Michael's birthday card and makes a phone call, she needs someone on Monday, can they make it?

Alfie promises Roxy she can announce their engagement once he's told Kat. Kat enjoys spending time with Alfie at Scarlett's party. When Alfie eventually admits he and Roxy are getting married, a speechless Kat heads inside, devastated.

After learning Billy's going to be away for Lexi's birthday, Lola plans a last minute party. Everyone gathers at Phil's but no-one's made much effort and Lola's upset. Whiles she's out the guests nick food and decorations from Janine's party to make the day special for Lola and Lexi.

Shirley quits her Minute Mart job after Denise tries to talk her into returning to the B&B.
