Back in Walford, Peter soon realises that everything has changed since he has been away and Ian is forced to fill him in on what has really happened. Tanya takes drastic action.

Peter learns Lucy’s taken over Ian’s businesses; she hints Ian is still ill. Peter takes an instant dislike to Joey when Lucy lets him help himself to a donut without paying. In the Vic, Peter becomes concerned by comments about Lauren’s drinking – she’s delighted to see him. Ian admits he did take money from Lucy for the restaurant but defends it was his to take, reassuring Peter he’s better now. Peter determines to get Ian’s businesses back. Max warns Peter away from Lauren. Later, Peter’s rattled by a mysterious phone call and destroys his mobile sim card.

Tanya surveys Lauren’s stash of empty bottles, sickened. She and Max argue about Lauren while Abi’s exams are forgotten. Tanya tries to make amends by baking Abi a cake. Discussing Lauren, Cora warns Tanya against doing anything drastic. In the Vic, Lauren films her friends for a college project and tries to borrow money from Dot, then steals a half-drunk wine bottle. Tanya’s promising to stop neglecting Abi when Lauren stumbles in, drunk. Tanya resolves to keep Lauren in and, to Cora’s dismay, locks the front door.

Michael shouts at Alice - he holds her responsible for him losing Scarlett. Neither Billy nor Dot can help with Janine’s whereabouts. Michael apologises to Alice with a hug, stealing Janine’s house keys. Alice finds Michael manically going through papers in No 27, desperate to find Scarlett.

Dot’s upset when Reverend Stevens implies she’s too old to be church warden. Sharon refuses to let her give up. Later, Reverend Stevens is impressed with how Dot deals with a drunken Lauren and changes his mind – Dot’s first task as church warden is to raise £8,000 for the church roof.

Sam reinstates his offer to buy Jay and Dexter’s car, provided they fix the damage. Seeing Abi’s excitement, Dexter reluctantly agrees.
