Reclaim revisited

Reclaim revisited

Four years ago Woman’s Hour visited a mentoring scheme being run by the Manchester-based project, Reclaim. The five-month scheme, involving 30 young girls aged 12 to 13, was designed to increase their self-esteem and to inspire them to consider how and what makes a successful woman. But how has life changed for the girls since then? One of them, Sinead Andrews, was recently voted Manchester Young Woman of the Year and another, Frances Capon, has been involved in writing an award-winning blog about the first year of her daughter’s life. ÌýTo discuss life after the scheme Jenni is joined by Sinead and Frances, as well as the Labour MEP for North West England Arlene McCarthy, who is a patron of Reclaim.ÌýÌý
