The future of the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music is in jeopardy. Should we accept that music tuition is a victim of public spending cuts?

There are plans to withdraw the funding for The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music which would lead to its closure. How much do we value music tuition and should we be prepared to pay for music or is traditional music such an important part of our culture that the state should be funding it?
