Episode 1 of 10

Clare English hears how anorexia forced Emily Troscianko and her mother, professor Sue Blackmore, into a state of limbo for 10 years.

Clare English returns with the series in which she talks to people whose lives are on hold, often because of factors beyond their control.

Emily Troscianko starved herself for 10 years while her mother, writer Sue Blackmore, looked on helplessly as her daughter wasted away to six stone. Then one day Sue's patience snapped. She told Emily that her anorexia was no longer welcome in the new house they were due to move into. It was the turning point for both of them. Clare English finds out how this desperate tough love tactic brought Emily back from the brink of self destruction.
