Do pensioners need more financial help?

Your calls on claims that inflation rises are hitting OAPs the hardest. Plus, should slow pedestrians be banned? Graham Stewart takes your calls.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies claims pensioners are being hit harder by inflation rises than anyone else. It says living costs for the oldest and poorest pensioners leapt nine per cent in a year, nearly double the official rate of inflation. Have you been particularly affected by the hikes in fuel and food costs? Have you seen the cost of your shopping go up?

Also: Should slow pedestrians be banned from our streets?

An "express lane" for pedestrians who want to travel along Edinburgh's Princes Street quickly without being held back by shoppers is being mooted. Tory councillor Jason Rust, says he plans to launch a motion to councillors next month in order to help combat "pavement rage". Would it work? What other things annoy you as a pedestrian?

And, on National Poetry day, we hear some of your favourite poems and verses.

Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
