Is the Saltire political or an expression of our national identity?
Scotland's trains are to be rebranded with a permanent Saltire livery. The decision has been taken by Transport Scotland, the Scottish Government agency, but Labour MSP George Foulkes claims the new livery will "brainwash people into independence". Is he right to suggest the Saltire is a symbol of nationalism? And, if not, what does the Saltire mean to you? Does an expression of national identity have to have political meaning, and do we need to do more to re-claim the Saltire?
