New artists and the biggest stars take to the Asian Network Uni Tour stage

Update - 12 November 2008: this press release posted on 5ÌýNovember 2008 has been updated to reflect new details regarding the Leicester tour date.

Ìý

Following the success of last year's Uni Tour, ±«Óãtv Asian Network is pleased to announce this year's six date musical feast, which will see the bass thumping sounds of Asian Britain come to Birmingham, London, Warwick, Leicester and Manchester.

Ìý

This year's tour continues the legacy of delivering the best DJs in British Asian music coupled with new breakthrough artists, who share the line-up with some of the biggest names in Asian music.

Ìý

The tour kicked off last night (Tuesday 4 November) at Gatecrasher, Birmingham, where internationally-acclaimed artist, MOBO winner and headliner, Raghav, performed some of his hit tunes including tracks from his new album Identity, featuring his latest single My Kinda Girl.

Ìý

Bhangra hotshot and Rishi Rich collaborator, Juggy D, played brand new material for the tour, whilst British hip-hop rapper, accomplished producer and MOBO winner, Sway, also joined this year's opening night line-up.

Ìý

Additional performances were from urban success story Roach Killa with Joga and Surinder Rattan, as well as rising desi star Jaz Dhami.

Ìý

Taking the UK urban scene by storm, R'n'B vocalist Zeekay hit the Uni Tour stage for the first time.

Ìý

At 20 years of age, Zeekay has already co-written and vocally produced a track for R'n'B superstar Ginuwine and also toured with him and other supporting acts.

Ìý

This year's Uni Tour will play host to music from Zeekay's debut album, including his first single My Moment.

Ìý

The tour also features the sounds of bhangra outfit Tigerstyle, whose musical history includes playing at last year's Glastonbury Festival and working with the likes of Sean Kingston, Gunjan and Bollywood hit maker, Pritam.

Ìý

Championed by top DJs all over the world, their powerful presence and vibrant music is unmistakable.

Ìý

The brothers will be bringing down the house with tunes from their new and much awaited album Mystics, Martyrs & Maharajahs.

Ìý

The Manchester event sees local lads Bonafide take to the stage. A talented duo hotly tipped for massive future glory, they will be joined on the night by Young Archie Assignment, a new and exciting Asian beats meets old skool R'n'B collective.

Ìý

Manchester's finest, Phat Aki & DJ Raf, will also be hitting the decks to drop their infectious beats.

Ìý

Bhangra's newest and talented offering Juz'D, sassy new female group Serese and award-winning trio 3Mix also perform on the tour and are set to make a huge impact on the student crowd.

Ìý
