Edwyn Collins to perform at ±«Óãtv Electric Proms

Five days, eight venues and over 80 artists

The ±«Óãtv today confirmed that Edwyn Collins will be performing at this
year's ±«Óãtv Electric Proms.
Ìý
Collins will perform tracks from his forthcoming
album ±«Óãtv Again alongside tracks from his back catalogue in the
intimate surroundings of Dingwalls in Camden, London on Sunday 28 October 2007, the
final evening of the five-day festival.
Ìý
Those already on this year's bill include Mark Ronson, Paul McCartney,
Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Ray Davies and Sigur Rós.

Performers at the
±«Óãtv Electric Proms are challenged to come up with new and original
material or arrangements of their music to reflect the central theme of
the festival, that of creating new moments in music.

Edwyn said: "I'm back and I'm raring to go! After three years, Dingwalls
with the ±«Óãtv Electric Proms. How exciting to be in my old world again,
with my band, my audience and among friends."

Festival Director Lorna Clarke added: "There are a lot of fantastic
artists playing at the Electric Proms this year but to have Edwyn
performing for us is a real privilege. I think it brings something
really special to the whole festival."

1Xtra, 6 Music, Asian Network and ±«Óãtv World Service.

There will be televised highlights broadcast on ±«Óãtv Two with
extra and extended performances available on the red button throughout
the festival.
