Chart-topper Barbara Dickson says she can't wait to return to Swansea for this weekend's Big Buzz festival.

Ìý

She is the latest star act to be announced for ±«Óãtv Radio Wales' free concert at the National Waterfront Museum on Sunday 23 July with a new, earlier start time of 2.30pm.

Ìý

And the singer - who is about to release a new album of songs by The Beatles titled Nothing's Gonna Change My World - is keeping her fingers crossed that the summer sunshine lasts until Sunday.

Ìý

"When I was asked to be part of the Big Buzz event in Swansea I was really delighted to say yes," she says.

Ìý

"I'm really looking forward to performing a few songs from the new album - I just hope the glorious weather lasts for us!"

Ìý

Barbara also says she's looking forward to meeting up with old pal Shakin' Stevens and watching from the wings as Dave Edmunds performs on stage - she's "a big fan" of his.

Ìý

The only thing she's concerned about is the presence of Doctor Who monsters - a deadly Dalek and a sinister Cyberman - at the Big Buzz.

Ìý

"I'll be running away from any men in tin foil!" she laughs.

Ìý

Other acts lined up include Swansea's own The Storys as well as The Dualers, Gregory Darling and The Puppini Sisters.

Ìý

The huge free outdoor concert, organised in conjunction with Swansea Council, will feature some of Radio Wales' favourite presenters, including Owen Money, Roy Noble, Chris Needs, Stuart Cable and Frank Hennessy who will also be meeting fans and signing autographs at the event.

Ìý

The concert will be broadcast live on Radio Wales on 93-96 and 104 FM and online at bbc.co.uk/radiowales, along with backstage gossip and interviews with the artists.
