Jon Beazley named Controller Entertainment Commissioning

Jon Beazley is today named as the Controller of Entertainment Commissioning.

Ìý

He is responsible for commissioning the largest entertainment slate in British TV across ±«Óãtv ONE, ±«Óãtv TWO, ±«Óãtv THREE and ±«Óãtv FOUR.

Ìý

Jon takes up the post with immediate effect and reports directly to Jana Bennett, Director of Television.

Ìý

Currently acting controller, Jon has an immense knowledge of entertainment, built up over 20 years at the ±«Óãtv.

Ìý

In the past 12 years, he has played a key role in the senior team for entertainment and has been responsible for commissioning a raft of shows including Friday Night with Jonathon Ross, Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, BAFTA Film Awards and Test the Nation.

Jon Beazley said: "I am really looking forward to pushing entertainment into new and challenging areas, across all the ±«Óãtv channels.

Jon first joined the ±«Óãtv's entertainment department in 1986 as a researcher in ±«Óãtv Manchester, moving on to assistant producer a year later and then sole producer of Noel's House Party by 1992 and then Generation Game.

Ìý

In 1997 Jon became executive producer, responsible for a range of shows including BAFTA Film and TV Awards and the National Lottery.

Ìý

Since 2000, Jon has been part of the entertainment commissioning team.
