Cardiff appeal after man found injured at bottom of stone stairs

Police have appealed for witnesses after a 21-year-old man was found with serious head injuries at the bottom of a flight of stone steps in Cardiff.

The man is in a serious condition in hospital after being discovered on Saturday on steps linking Cranbrook Street and Lowther Road, Cathays.

He is described as 6ft 1in (1.85m) tall with "messy" brown hair and a "stubbled" face.

South Wales Police said they are keen to trace a woman seen at the scene.

The man was taken be ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales after the emergency services were alerted at around 17:30 GMT.

He was wearing a dark brown leather jacket, a navy blue polo shirt and dark blue jeans.
