Hogganfield
Park is just two miles from the centre of Glasgow, and is close to one of Scotland's
biggest housing estates.
On the face of it this seems an unlikely setting
to find some interesting nature but Hogganfield Park is one of the best urban
wildlife spots in the whole country.
City parks are easy and fun places to watch wildlife
during the winter months. Visit other city park locations and find out more about
what they can offer.
Bird watching. Nature events - a
highlight of the year is Big Bird Day held on the first Sunday in October with
the Countryside Ranger Service. A circular walk provides excellent views of the
loch and grassland habitats.

is a good time for spotting Goosander and Jack Snipe.
Access:
Good
wheelchair access with a tarmac path all the way around the edge of the loch.
Getting there:
The
park is located 5km north east of Glasgow city centre. It is bounded by Cumbernauld
Road (A80) and Avenue End Road (B765).
