Image of UVF guns arriving in Ulster
Waiting for guns at Bangor, 24th April 1914. In January 1914 Carson and Craig approved the UVF’s plan to import a consignment of arms from Germany. On the night of 24th April 1914, the Clyde Valley delivered its main shipment of weapons to Larne in Co Antrim. Small numbers of weapons were also put ashore at Bangor and Donaghadee. The police did not intervene to prevent the distribution of the arms. ©
