Your Dench Instructor

Whether he's rap battling headmasters on ±«Óătv THREE’s Bad Education, reporting on a football match for Match of the Day 2, bringing a full band in to cover the Prodigy in the Live Lounge, appearing in an iPlayer-only hip hop edition of Mastermind or tirelessly finding new ways to brand T-shirts and merchandise with his trademark “Dench”, Lethal Bizzle (or Maxwell Ansah, as he is known at home) is a hard man to keep up with.

Since 2002, this irrepressible MC has been tirelessly working out new ways of getting his ideas out to his fans, often playing social media the way Jimi Hendrix played his guitar. First with More Fire Crew, whose Oi! reached the Top 10, then on his own with a steady stream of attention-seeking hits like Pow (Forward), Not A Saint and The Drop. Along the way he’s sampled the Clash, worked with Gallows, Kate Nash and Babyshambles - remember the 2007 crossover between grime and indie that the NME christened grindie? - encouraged everyone to go to the gym (in Rari Workout) and appeared at 2012’s Big Weekend in Hackney. Busy, busy, bizzle.
