About this event
The ±«Óătv Proms Inspire scheme is for budding composers aged 12 to 18 who want to write their own music. The scheme provides you with a friendly environment to share ideas, participate in workshops, meet other young composers and develop your musical creativity. Best of all, it's free!Â
Exploring the techniques of looping and phase as pioneered in Steve Reich’s early works – in particular, “It’s Gonna Rain” - this practical workshop offers you the chance to discover the power of Electronic Music as both a force in its own right and as a technique to extend the language of conventional composition. Each young composer will produce a short compositional unit to contribute to a larger piece which will be presented at the end of the workshop. Guided by Mike Roberts (Head of Electronic Music at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama) and a group of young, emerging electronic musicians.
Please note timings for this event have changed.
How to book There are limited places available at this workshop. Booking will close at 12pm on Wednesday 13 August. Please complete the online booking form and a member of the team will be in touch.
