Complaint
In this edition of the programme the presenter conducted an interview with Hilary Benn MP prompted by Labour’s announcement that it did not intend to rejoin the European Union, the single market or the customs union if elected. A listener complained that the presenter had shown bias by saying Mr Benn had “been proven right by voting remain” and “vindicated for his remain views”.  The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the ±«Óătv’s editorial standards of impartiality.
Outcome
As the presenter had not used the words complained of, or anything approximating to them, the complaint did not identify a breach of the ±«Óătv’s editorial standards.
