Complaint
A viewer complained that Laura Kuenssberg’s failure to challenge statements by Avi Hyman, an Israeli government spokesman, amounted to an abandonment of neutrality.  The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the ±«Óãtv’s editorial standards of impartiality.
Outcome
Mr Hyman had been invited onto the programme in the wake a significant and unprecedented attack on Israel by Iran which had taken place the previous night, and the purpose of the interview was to probe how Israel might respond, not to hold him to account for Israel’s actions in Gaza more generally. Within that context, the ECU considered Mr Hyman had been appropriately challenged by Ms Kuenssberg.
