Complaint
The programme included an interview with the Jewish novelist Howard Jacobson. A viewer complained that he was allowed to put a pro-Israeli viewpoint without appropriate challenge. The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the ±«Óãtv’s editorial standards of impartiality.
Outcome
The interview mainly focused on Mr Jacobson’s concerns about antisemitism in the UK, and raised no issue of impartiality. When, towards the end of the interview, he expressed the view that the ±«Óãtv’s coverage of the Gaza conflict was biased against Israel, he was appropriately challenged.
