Summary of complaint
We received complaints from people unhappy that the pro-Palestinian marches in the UK were misrepresented as demonstrations in support of Hamas.
Our response
During our continuing coverage of the Israel-Gaza conflict we mentioned some of the pro-Palestinian demonstrations that took place on the weekend of October 14th/15th.  We spoke about “several demonstrations across Britain during which people voiced their backing for Hamas”.
We accept that this was poorly phrased and was a misleading description of the demonstrations. Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters took to the streets across the UK and although there were some arrests there was little evidence of any significant support for Hamas during these demonstrations. Â We clarified this on air later in the day.
