The appeal, presented by entrepreneur and brand founder Liz Earle MBE, shared the story of Nasma who lives in Monrovia, Liberia. She experienced severe bleeding after having an emergency caesarean section during the birth of her son, and required life-saving medicines which were donated by International Health Partners.
Unfortunately, there are still considerable inequalities in accessing medicines around the world. The World Health Organisation has found that women in low-income countries are more likely to die or experience illness due to health complications than their counterparts in high-income countries.
