blogpic.JPGI know, I've been on the show more than two years and only just written this page. I have no excuses other than I hate photographs of myself and knew I would have to put one up! For regulars on the blog, you'll know I've recently returned from a year off after having my daughter. I joined the show from another ±«Óãtv station Radio Five Live, where I knew both Ros and Mark. In fact Mark interviewed me for my first job at the station, I was convinced I hadn't got the job after the interview descended into discussing whether Liverpool (my team) are better than West Ham. Somehow he let me in.

I've lived all over the UK, moving for jobs in Radio. I started at ±«Óãtv Look North, which is regional television in Leeds, after completing my degree at Leeds University. I also worked at ±«Óãtv Radio Newcastle, ±«Óãtv Radio Solent, Trent FM in Nottingham, to mention a few. Weirdly I hated radio when I was at University, but after getting a job at a commercial station in Nottingham (where I grew up) I was sent out to interview our newly elected Prime Minister Tony Blair. There I was a 22 year old with a one to one interview with the PM. Other journalists were allowed to record our interview, but only I was allowed to ask questions. My opener......"Prime Minister can we get a little closer my mic lead isn't very long".....his response "I'm game if you are"..........Even now I blush when I think about it.

There are several passions in my life, alongside my husband and daughter of course, but sport is the biggest. If there's a football match on, it's on in our house. I also play a lot of netball, I am very competitive, probably too much so sometimes!

I consider myself very lucky to be part of the WHYS family. When Mark asked me to come over and present a few shows I never thought it would result in me working here permanently. I am in the great position where I get to produce the show and present when Ros isn't around, so I get the best of both worlds. And if you think you don't hear me as much as you used to, that's because being a mum I'm only here three days a week.
