In Mold, sustainable travel fits in with the town's project - [Cittaslow is a network of towns where it is said to be good to live].

And the group of local individuals and organisations [like ] behind that bid have come up with a travel 'wish list' to give in a report to - the public transport group of the six county authorities in North Wales - by mid-June. [Read Taith's , PDF document]

TAITH will take the whole thing forward because the Welsh Assembly Government are planning to run a sustainable travel pilot project in Wales with one town selected from each of the four regions. In North Wales, Mold and Bangor have expressed an interest to take the lead.

Here's the wish-list for Mold:

Walking
Improve walking routes to/around town centre
Resurfacing
Signage
Increase pedestrianisation
Mold public footpath network
Create slow lanes

Cycling
Mold-Saltney Greenway
Potential for on highway cycle lanes e.g. Ruthin Road
More/better information about, town centre cycle storage
Cycle hire
Cycle training for all age groups.
Consider the use of some suitable footpaths for cycle use

Bus services
Improved marketing and publicity.
Mold Shuttle: home to school, shopping, etc.
Evening (leisure, adult education)
Park and ride

Other
Mold car share scheme.
Mold car club.
Personalised travel planning for all Mold employers.
