Former royal butler Paul Burrell tells that he has "not one grievance to bear" over not being invited to the Diana, Princess of Wales, memorial service.
Mr Burrell, who owns a flower shop in Farndon, spent many years as Diana's butler, and later found fame in the ITV reality show I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!

Following yesterday's blog about a Rhyl man being fined for putting his bins out early comes a story from Wrexham about a 16-year-old girl ordered to pay £100 for dropping a burger wrapper in the town.
She was issued with a £75 fixed penalty notice in May by Wrexham Council's environment enforcement officers, but failed to pay, and action was taken by Wrexham Council under its new Pride in Your Streets campaign to recover the fine, reports

Where's your favourite spot on the Dee? Mine's actually standing at West Kirby and looking back across the estuary towards Holywell.

Interesting story from which explains how a Rhyl resident ended up with a £1,000 court fine for putting his bins out five days before collection day.
Whilst the level of the fine was up to magistrates, says on its website: "The council firmly believes that dumping waste is a blight on the landscape and is also an anti-social behaviour that affects the quality of life for local residents and will not be tolerated."

The ±«Óãtv's Family Wanted campaign, which aims to encourage potential new adopters and long-term foster carers to find out if they have what it takes to be a child’s parent or carer, is coming to north Wales. Despite restrictions because of Foot and Mouth the Flint and Denbigh Show went ahead today. Another drawback was wet weather beforehand leading to a muddy field - wellies were definitely required! View some photos from the event and feel free to email us yours.

Tonight's Real Men programme features the work of engineers checking the pylons and overhead power lines coming from Connah's Quay Power Station. The work requires an excellent head for heights as shown by these pictures. The programme is on ±«Óãtv1 tonight at 7.30pm.

Don't expect many 'affordable homes' in Wrexham for the next couple of years, says the council leader. Meanwhile, the situation does look a lot brighter in Denbighshire.
Wrexham Council leader Cllr Aled Roberts tells the newspaper the council will not be able to help provide more than a handful of affordable homes in Wrexham in the next two years because of "scandalously low" levels of funding from the Assembly. The announcement comes amid concern that a planned development at Erddig will price locals out of the market.

Mi es i i fy eisteddfod genedlaethol cyntaf dros y penwythnos [I went to my first national eisteddfod over the weekend] - and it did not disappoint.
Roedd na gyfle grét i glwyed llawer o Gymraeg [It was a great opportunity to hear lots of Welsh] - and you may remember I set a personal challenge a year ago to be confident enough to siarad Cymraeg ar y maes [speak Welsh on the field].
Well, I did it and roedd yn bendegidig [it was wonderful]! And I've just uploaded a film at which shows my experiences, including meeting Glyn Wise, formerly of Big Brother TV fame, who presented learners' certificates for GCSEs and A levels and has become something of a champion of the Welsh language.

It's been a long time planning, costing £2m to stage, and at least two months of hard graft for the workers on the maes who've been building the dozens of tents and marquees to make the 2007 National Eisteddfod in Mold as much as an indoor as it is outdoor event.
And, thanks to the last week of good weather, the site on the outskirts of Mold has largely dried out and is free from water-related problems - due to the landowner giving over another 20 acres to compensate for areas that were affected by the recent wet weather.
Plus, 6,000 tonnes of stone and 2,500 tonnes of tarmac planings have been used to create roads to ensure no one gets stuck on the maes [it actually occupies 150 acres].

We all expected that an official debate [Welsh debate - expect a bumpy ride] about the importance and value of the Welsh language would be controversial - but we at least thought there would be a debate.
As I said yesterday morning, Meri Huws, Chair of the Welsh Language Board, decided to pull out of the Radio 4 debate programme Hecklers in which Sir Dai Llewellyn was due to argue that "Welsh language promotion has gone too far".
In a statement, Meri Huws says: "People in Wales and across the UK realise that the Welsh Language has moved beyond being mocking material. It is a national language and according to law to be treated on the basis that it is equal with English. Failure to acknowledge this appears to be at the very basis of this programme."
Then, one by one, fellow opponents pulled out via email - Dafydd Whittall, Chairman of the National Eisteddfod Council; Richard Brunstrom, North Wales Chief Constable; and Nic Parry, solicitor and Crown Court recorder.
