I was really pleased that the tickets for this year's show sold out so quickly - inside an hour in fact!
We probably could have sold enough to have filled to capacity St Andrews and Villa Park such has been the interest in this year's event moving to Birmingham's NEC.
The downside of not having enough tickets to satisfy demand is that some Sports Personality tickets have appeared on eBay at vastly increased prices. We're really very disappointed about this.
The team have worked really hard here to keep the cost of the as low as possible (£25).
The awards on Sunday 10 December will not make any profit. Proceeds from ticket sales will go some way towards the cost of mounting the event itself.
We put in place a number of restrictions and conditions to prevent them being sold at a higher price. We have made it clear in our terms and conditions that tickets are non-transferable and proof of identity may be required on the night. We limited the number of tickets per booking to a maximum of four.
We're investigating the reported offering of tickets on eBay. We want the tickets to go to real fans of the show who, for the first time, will get a chance to come to a very special event.
