On a foggy London morning

Eddie Mair | 07:11 UK time, Thursday, 11 October 2007

I took this snap, just before 7am, of the progress being made across the road from us here at TV Centre, on the ±«Óãtv Truth Commission. It's being constructed in the wake of all our terrible lies, and will be Europe's first all-digital Truth Commission, coming in at a cost of only 500 million pounds.

It's interesting that an organisation like the ±«Óãtv has to now invest 500 million pounds on yet another building with presumably more staff to get to 'the truth'?

Could this new 'truth commission' not have been erected outside London where property prices are lower?

I expect every penny will be from the license payer and although personally I'd be happy to sell my Hotel and all it's contents for the ±«Óãtv I hope to see all these 'fat cat' salaries reduced - including the likes of Mr Mair, Mr Ross and Mr Evans.

Oh and another thing. This new phone-in called 'down the line' at 18:30 on Radio 4. I tried ringing the 0800 number to get through and make a comment on the programme.

It doesn't work properly! Is this just more lies? Or a technical error!

It looks like two of the crane operators were photographing you at the same time. Do you have a link to their blog(s)?

C'mon, Eddie, get a grip! You've shown us these cranes before (under different weather conditions, it's true).

Are they going to appoint you Truth Commissioner, btw? Or are you already throwing your cap in for Head of ±«Óãtv1? I'd vote for you!

Oh, and 7 a.m. is too early to be at work, Eddie. I thought you usually got in around 10? Or do you live at TV Centre? Penthouse suite perhaps? ;o)

okay, now my posts are coming in reverse, so this could even be SB5! :p

Still at least is shows the blog is working :-) Congrats to the techies who finally sorted things out....

I think we all need a cup of strong coffee down at Nick's Bar. Eddie, we hope you can join us there too.

Ooooh, I'm very excited - Just switched over to Feeds and the counter is showing that this is Eddie's 1000th post!

However, this being the ±«Óãtv ;o) it could be that the figures have been massaged .... Not, I hasten to add, by Eddie.

Eddie, is this truly the 1000th thread?

    Re; Big Sis!

I think it's perhaps in a time warp today?

to the article Eddie published here!

This coincided with Eddie's 1000th post

You're quite right, Jonnie. But this means we can now calculate how many threads are 'missing' (i.e. inaccessible).

Okay, well I've just been counting back from the real 1000th comment to this one, and it looks as though Feeds are about 200 posts adrift. (I reckon 198, discounting the duplicates)

What happens to them, Eddie? Or Marc? Do they go into the cellar in a cardboard box?

    Did I hear you mention Feeds? I'm ravenous - I could eat a . . . Well you know what I mean.

    What Feed have you got?

Is there any truth outside London?

Where are the calculations that go with a calculated risk?

Big Sis @16 - Sigh! I haven't had my oats for ages.

Horse: I said "low oat", not "no oat". Oats sharpen a horse's nervous system and can lead to them being a bit 'high' or excitable, which isn't always what is required of a horse.

However, it is well known that horses love oats, so the secret is *moderation*. Like so much in life.;o)

Perhaps in your case you should aim for an occasional dip of the muzzle into the oatbin, savouring the moment, before moving on to the barley and other feeds?

(Oh, and you don't do horse psychiatry, do you?)

Big Sister @ 18 - Horse psychiatry - is that like Equine CBT?

I must admit that things were getting me down last year. I was in a race at Cheltenham in December and we were well ahead of the field. Suddenly my jockey was hit on the head by a turkey and a string of sausages. We managed to keep control and pulled back into the lead, only for me to be struck by a box of Christmas crackers and a dozen mince pies as we went over the last fence.

With great skill the jockey managed to steer me to the front of the field once more when, on the run in, he was struck on the head by a bottle of sherry and a Christmas pudding. We couldn't recover and succeeded in coming only second. At my insistence the jockey went immediately to the Stewards to complain that we had been seriously hampered.
