I thought Jane Garvey's interview about the caravan site was particularly good.
What on earth does Robert 'breathless' Peston smoke before his appearances in front of the microphone ??
He's a bright lad, but he does sound like an excited schoolboy. He's not the 3rd 'long lost' Milliband brother by any chance ?
Is your correspondent Robert Preston capable of speaking English? or putting an sentence together in his - apparently - native tongue, without a "giggle", a "you know", or an "aaaahhhh" in the middle of his reporting - reminds me of the best mans speech made by Rowan Atkinson in a sketch - very funny in the right circumstances - but not in reporting news.

I was thinking the same! I felt exhausted after hearing him (I cannot say I listened).
Quite enjoyed the acupuncture thing. I teach and use acupressure as something patients can do for themselves to relieve nausea. I'd always got good results with post-op patients. I tried it myself when I had food poisoning and it was useless! I'm wondering whether that is a placebo-effect and I don't have the same belief in myself that my patients do.
Re the Halo 3 item! Good but would have been better if I'd seen my email from George a producer asking if I'd like to talk to Eddie about it before the programme was on the air!
Well I would have loved to but actually it's not my sort of game! Sigh! Missed my opportunity for fame! And to talk to the lovely Eddie.
What I will say is that the gaming industry is now a very important aspect of our entertainment culture and I'm very pleased that PM notices that.
No Golden Joystick moments though.

Good prog, but can you sedate Robert Preston a little before launching him onto the air waves!
He is a very good reporter but at times he makes for hard listening!
May have just sent a message unfinished...sorry..Basically just saying that it is good news coming out of Burma....but is it? As the Ruling Elite has despised and hated Democracy for most of Human History. And if voting in general elections meant anything it would have been abolished (not my idea). Not forgetting that even Freedom is now a commodity...so with-out dosh/resources and so on you do not have a lot of Freedom...in essence Liberal Democracy is nothing but a sham and when Old Labour can become New Labour overnight and believe in the complete opposite too what they once believed in....the masses are being fooled all the way to the bank/polling booth...and nothing more!

I found the interview with Leys Geddes really interesting. Thankfully there was a bit of peace in the kitchen at the time, so I could actually hear most of it.
I thought Eddie asked some thoughtful questions, & the final query about how Mr Geddes would like the interview edited for broadcast showed great sensitivity. I don't find stammering funny at all, but rather tension-provoking, as you "will" the person to keep speaking & not freeze up. I imagine it was not a relaxing experience to conduct an interview with someone who has such a condition. Interesting that sometimes Mr Geddes spoke quite naturally & fluently, I suspect when giving answers to questions he had often been asked before, so he didn't feel too self-conscious. I commend his bravery for doing the interview, and for asking for his part in it to be unedited.
Interesting comments on Mr Preston, I had thought that he sounded as if he had a rather good city lunch. A Reggie Bosanquet moment perhaps?
I listened to PM's story about the Little Rock Nine anniversary but you failed to mention that it was a Democrat Governor of a Democrat controlled state who had to be forced by a Republican president to let nine black kids go to school.
You did manage to mention that the Clintons where there.
Ralph (11) Why should the political persuasion of the then POTUS and State Governor be mentioned? If one had been mentioned, then yes, the other should be as well, but are you seriously claiming that by not saying what party they belonged to is some sort of bias?

The highlight for me was the stammering interview - really compelling stuff. It's always been an interesting editorial question: should one edit out a stammer in the same way as ums and ers and long gaps between words are routinely edited out.
The acupuncture discussion was really interesting too... there is a lively separate strand on that.

Okay, that's just plain wierd! My original post which was 1,004'ed (2x502) and then told it wasn't allowed has now appeared after the l;ater post that made it through. My Brain Hurts!!!
Fearless Fred (18) - Definitely not a Springer Spaniel. I've got one and although very lively, he's nowhere near as excitable as Mr Peston. And he's useless on business matters - the dog, that is.
