A blog and forum.

I am FOOC-ed, Evo is in the bag

Hi everybody - sorry for the hiatus in the blog but I have been "working from home" (why do we say "from"?) on the piece that goes out as part of Newsnight's Latin America week next Wednesday. The reason I could not blog is because BT Openworld went down and I could only talk to an automated voice about what was wrong with it. The automated voice has now put things right but only after 48 hours of sheer hell, having to do analogue stuff like reading books and watching TV. Anyway you will be pleased to know I've been FOOC-ed...

...FOOC being that ±«Óãtv institution From Our Own Correspondent. An account of my trip to the Bolivian shanty-city of El Alto will be on FOOC, on Radio Four, this Saturday - as they are podcasting and streaming it is all available .

The other bit of news worth knowing is that I have managed to get an exclusive interview with Evo Morales. He called us into the presidential palace at 5am last week, just as we had given up hope.

The Morales interview will form part of my report - and will go out in longer form on ±«Óãtv World later next week. If you can't watch, don't worry because I will be posting a full written version of the interview on the blog on Wednesday 5 April at 0800 GMT. Needless to say, it's fascinating - and he is fairly frank about the constraints he is under. Read it EXCLUSIVELY here, first.

If you can't wait for Evo, try Paxo - Newsnight's "lider maximo" has discovered podcasting and is now only 40 places behind Ricky Gervaise in the iTunes chart. .

The Paxcast is doing much better than this blog is in the Technorati league table - I am still a million and somethingth! Get trackbacking you mean bunch of bloggers!

I wouldn't worry too much about your Technorati ranking Paul - quality always shines through, it just takes a wee bit of time to get noticed. You can always game the 'system' :)

Sorry - should've said. For people like myself that can't get ±«Óãtv TV through conventional means (I live in Spain), having the combination of blog, podcast etc is a terrific alternative.

Very good site, congratulations!
