Activity 3: A woodland habitat in a shoe box

You will need: an old shoe box (or any box)

Go for a walk in a woodland area with a responsible adult. Collect bits of twigs, soil and leaves that you find on the floor.

  • What animals can you see? hear?
  • What can you smell?
  • Can you see any nests?

Using the stuff you collected, turn your shoe box into a woodland habitat. You could draw some animals, too.
