NARRATOR: Hello Snoot, what’s wrong?
ALIEN: Alien language
NARRATOR: Oh no! You forgot Finn and Plimble were coming for lunch?
Not to worry, let’s see what’s in the fridge… oh my! Is there anything edible in there?
ALIEN: Alien language.
NARRATOR: I SEE! You’ve got leftovers from three squashsplod pies. How many leftovers do you have altogether?
ALIEN: Alien language.
NARRATOR: Lets see, you’ve got half a pie in one tin, one third of a pie in another tin and one sixth of a pie in another tin.Maybe if you put all the leftovers together, there’ll enough for lunch.
ALIEN: Alien language.
NARRATOR: Let’s start with the smallest piece, which is one sixth of a pie.
The next biggest piece is one third of a pie. If we cut one third into two, that makes two sixths, because one third is the same as two sixths.
You can cut one half of a pie into three to make three sixths. Which gives us one sixth, plus two sixths, plus three sixths altogether.
One sixth, plus two sixths makes three sixths. And three sixths plus another three sixths makes six sixths, or one whole squashsplod pie.
ALIEN: Ah ha!
NARRATOR: Hello Finn, hello Plimble.
ALIENS: Hello!
NARRATOR: Snoot’s got something special for you. Finn! What are you doing?
ALIEN: Alien language.
NARRATOR: Oh my! That’s a pie and a half!
