Colour mixing
There are three main colours that you will need.
The are the primary colours: red, blue and yellow.
All other colours can be made from mixing the three.
You can make secondary colours by mixing two primary colours together.
Secondary colours are orange, purple and green.
You can change the shade of the secondary colour, by adding more or less of one of the primary colours.
Explore what happens when you mix primary colours together to make secondary colours in this video with Kit and Pup.
Brush choice
Choosing a paintbrush is important for what you are painting.
Some artists hold their brush loosely and paint by holding their brush at arm’s length. Some work closer to the paper adding more detail.
Who is Neil Shawcross?
Neil Shawcross used colours in a very fun way and loved the marks he could make with a paint brush.
