This bead-net dress was found by Guy Brunton in the Qau cemeteries during his excavations of the 1920s. Possibly designed to rattle with the wearer's movements, it was thought to have been worn for dancing when it was first reconstructed in 1994 and 1995. Since then, however, other theories have been put forward. See it for yourself at the Petrie Museum and speculate its true purpose.
