Roles and responsibilities

  • Rob leads the team responsible for all Daytime and Early Peak commissions for ±«Óãtv One and Two. Daytime is part of the Unscripted department headed up by Kate Philips.

Biography

Prior to starting his role leading Daytime in November 2022, Rob was for several years Head of The One Show for ±«Óãtv Studios, where he was responsible for keeping the show on air during Covid, and, at the opposite end of the day, in 2020 also launched Morning Live.

Before that he was Head of ±«Óãtv Studios’ Factual team in Salford, overseeing a raft of hit Daytime commissions including Rip Off Britain, Truth or Scare?, Right on the Money, Women at War, ±«Óãtv Front Heroes, Sister Rita to the Rescue, and Operation Hospital Food, as well as award-winning series and documentaries for ±«Óãtv Three such as Sex, Drugs and Murder: Life in the Red Light Zone, Escape from the World’s Most Dangerous Place, How Safe are my Drugs?, and Licence to Kill.

He also executive produced the ±«Óãtv Studios documentaries Danny Dyer on Harold Pinter for Sky Arts, and Tourette’s Teacher for Channel Five.

His ±«Óãtv career has included everything from editing then executive producing Watchdog, through producing on Blue Peter and the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, to a Senior Adviser role in Editorial Policy.

 

Expenses and central bookings

Expenses are costs incurred by ±«Óãtv staff on behalf of the ±«Óãtv and claimed through the ±«Óãtv's expenses system.

Central bookings are costs incurred on behalf of the ±«Óãtv and booked through the ±«Óãtv's central bookings system. Both expenses and central bookings are published every three months.
